Teaching Pedagogy

Something that stood out to me from my own education was the professors who were passionate about what they were teaching and effectively balanced intellectual rigor with concern for students. I center these values and I also center research in my approach to teaching and in students’ experiences in the course, in my teaching experiences. I believe that taking an evidence-based approach to teaching pedagogy is critical for ensuring students receive a high-quality education and creating an inclusive classroom environment.

 

I have served as a teaching assistant (12 courses), guest lecturer (8 lectures), and instructor of record (6 distinct courses and 9 sections). Across these experiences, I have focused on creating an inclusive student-centered environment, centering applicability to the real world, and encouraging students to be comfortable engaging firsthand with research.
